Terms of Service
Last updated: June 11, 2026
1. Acceptance
By using Gauntle (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Gauntle. If you're under 18, you confirm your parent or guardian has consented to your use of the Service.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password and recovery codes safe. We can't reset your password without a recovery code (we don't store your email). If you lose your codes, your account may be unrecoverable.
You agree not to:
- Pick a username or display name that's hateful, discriminatory, gross, or impersonates someone else
- Try to cheat or manipulate the leaderboards (including running multiple accounts, scripting inputs, or replaying a recorded run)
- Attempt to access other users' accounts
- Use automated tools or scripts to play
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service
- Abuse the contact form for spam, harassment, or anything illegal
We may rename display names that violate these rules, hide accounts from the leaderboard, or permanently ban repeat offenders. Where we rename, we'll generally use a neutral placeholder rather than deleting your scores.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of any feedback or suggestions you send us. By submitting feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate it for any purpose, without compensation or attribution.
5. Service availability
Gauntle is provided "as is." We try to keep it running, but we don't guarantee uptime, error-free operation, or that any specific feature will exist forever.
From time to time we may put the site (or new run starts) into maintenance mode while we fix something or push a change. We try to keep these windows short, and we'll surface a message when they happen.
Game content, scoring rules, the changelog, and the how-to-play pages may change at any time. Historical scores are not retroactively recomputed when rules change.
6. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the settings page. Deleting your account permanently removes your scores, streaks, settings, and recovery codes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent we are permitted to limit liability for breach of a non-excludable consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to resupplying the Service or paying the cost of resupply.
Subject to the above, to the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service (which is currently zero, since Gauntle is free).
8. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms or the privacy policy at any time. For material changes, we'll surface a notice on the site. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Contact
Use the contact form on the About page or contact@gauntle.com to reach us.
